In memory of our friend
On the evening of March 1, 2004, a senseless, tragic accident claimed the life of our dear friend and co-worker Melissa Mann, her unborn child, and her beautiful six year old niece Lexi Thompson. By nothing short of a miracle, her 2 year old daughter, Gracie, survived.
Melissa came to us as a happy, fun-loving 19 year old just out of college. She played college basketball, and was the star of the Direct Sports softball team. Her physical beauty was stunning, but it was the person inside we quickly grew to love. Over the years we've shared with her the marriage to her one true love, Kelly, and the birth of her beautiful daughter Gracie. While she loved her job and the people she worked with, her ultimate goal was to retire after the birth of her 2nd child in the late summer. Her priority in life was to be a loving mother to her children, and that meant being there with them every day.
This will always be a time for sorrow for all of us at Direct Sports. A time for many tears, and a sense of loss that we will never truly get over. In time, the memories we will recall are Melissa's inner beauty, the smile we came to expect every morning, the kind words she always knew when to say, and the amazing spirit which she was never afraid to show.
Melissa, you will never be forgotten. The memories of the times we had will always be with us, and until the day when we all meet again in a much better place, we love you very much.
