Short version: Marucci's 2027 Asura line arrived October 15, 2026 in two versions. The Asura Rise is the two-piece composite with a new, longer inner barrel. The Asura Lux Rise is a one-piece composite built on the same barrel, tuned to the same swing weight. Both come in -10 and -11 at $379.99. The 2026 Asura, still a top-tier two-piece, is now $299.99 (regularly $449.99). If budget matters, that's the bat to look at first.

2027 Asura Rise: what's actually new
The Rise keeps the pieces that made the original Asura work: the PFX composite handle, the OLS connection that joins barrel to handle from the outside in, and a mid-loaded swing weight. The change is inside the barrel.
- Rise Sync barrel. The inner barrel is longer and fully suspended, which Marucci says extends the active hitting zone by up to 10%. In plain terms: a wider sweet spot, and mishits toward the end cap or the hands lose less.
- Progressive gap geometry. The spacing between inner and outer barrel is tuned per length and drop rather than one setting for the whole line. A 29" -11 and a 33" -10 are built as different bats, not the same bat cut to length.
- AV knob. A new anti-vibration knob with a soft elastomer shell. It takes sting out of the hands without the dead feel some vibration systems produce.
- Half sizes. The -10 adds 32.5" and 33.5", which matters for a hitter who is between a 32 and a 33 and has been compromising.
Swing weight and balance point are held constant across the line, so a player moving up a size next year gets the same feel.
2027 Asura Lux Rise: the one-piece version
The Lux Rise is new to the Asura family. It's a one-piece composite with the same Rise barrel, a high-flex handle and a stiffened transition zone where a two-piece would have its joint. Marucci tuned it to the same swing weight and MOI as the two-piece Rise, so the choice between them is purely about feel:
- Choose the Lux Rise if your hitter wants direct feedback and a stiffer, more connected feel, or has always preferred one-piece bats. The Lux Rise also has a longer straight barrel than the two-piece.
- Choose the Rise if sting on mishits is a concern, especially for younger or lighter players, or if she's coming off a two-piece bat and likes it.
Neither is "hotter" than the other. They're the same barrel technology in two feels at the same price.
The 2026 Asura: $150 off a bat that's still current
The 2026 Asura introduced Gap Sync barrel technology and the Evolve composite layup, and it is the bat the Rise is built from. It's a two-piece, mid-loaded, with no break-in required. What you give up against the 2027 Rise is the longer inner barrel and the new knob. What you gain is $80 against the new models and $150 against last year's price.
For a 10U or 12U player who will outgrow her length in a season or two, the 2026 Asura at $299.99 is the value pick in this lineup. The Citrus Spark limited edition is the same bat in a brighter colorway at the same closeout price, in limited sizes.
Asura Alloy -12: the $99 entry point
The Asura Alloy shares the name and not much else. It's a one-piece aluminum bat with a balanced swing, a ring-free barrel and a liquid-gel knob to absorb vibration. At -12 and 27"–31", it's for 8U and 10U players starting out. No break-in, no cold-weather worries, and it carries the same five stamps as the composites.
Which Asura should you buy?
- 8U–10U, first real bat: the Asura Alloy -12. Save the composite money until the swing is consistent.
- 10U–12U, ready for composite: the 2026 Asura -11 or -10 at $299.99. Same tier of bat, $80 less than the new one.
- 12U–14U and high school, wants the newest barrel: the 2027 Asura Rise -10. Most high school hitters land in a 32 or 33; the half sizes let you fine-tune.
- Prefers a one-piece, or hits with a stiff connected feel: the 2027 Asura Lux Rise -10. Same swing weight, more feedback.
- Lighter or younger hitter who wants the new tech: either Rise in -11.

Before the first swing
Marucci lists the Asura composites as game-ready with no break-in required. A few dozen tee swings to get the feel is still a good idea, and the usual composite rules apply: real softballs only, no dimpled cage balls, and keep it above 60°F. The Alloy has no such restrictions. More in how to break in a bat.
